Designing a template To design your own template you only need to start wit a blank page. From the Album menu select "Sheet - New sheet" ( or press the New sheet button / CTRL +N )
In Photoshop select the rectangle tool ( just underneath the type tool). On the options for this tool, the shape layer and the rectangle tool should be activated. Now draw a rectangle at the blank document as shown in the picture. This will create a new shape layer in the document. Of course you may resize and reposition your shape.
You may select any other shape form, there are many available with Photoshop and you may also design your own shapes. We have selected one that remembers a postal stamp for our second shape. It is time to put pictures on the document, remember the first lesson: select a Shape layer and double click on the picture.
Save this sheet for your album Surely you want to reuse this template for other albums, select at the Album menu "Sheet - Save as template" and choose a target folder for your templates ( it should be a subfolder of the Album/Templates folder), you may use any name for the template but the first 6 digits should be used for number of pictures ( 2 digits), number of vertical pictures (2 digits) and number of horizontal pictures (2 digits) like "030102mytemplate" . If you have activated "Keep pictures while saving templates" at Selection and preferences, then your template will be saved creating a thumb with your own pictures, otherwise the program will use standard numbered pictures for the thumbnails. Of course you may complicate your design including variable opacity layers, drawings, effects, etc. We will learn this on next chapters.
