Create a puzzle We are going to create a puzzle look a like picture in just few steps. Set preferences to work at full resolution ( disable scaled option) then create a new sheet or open a template, if no square shape is available draw one with the Photoshop rectangle tool; we have used a tempate with only one square shape filling the whole template At Photoshop layers palette select the shape layer, now press the Masks button and select the puzzle mask, double click on this mask. The mask will fill the shape layer masking it. Now press Pictures button and double click on the desired picture. This picture will be inserted in Photoshop automatically at the shape ' s place and with his dimensions. Now the tricky part, merge the picture layer and the shape layer, select one piece of the puzzle ( with the lasso tool or pen) and cut it (Ctrl+X), create a new layer and paste it (CTRL+V), finally rotate this piece with Photoshop. To create a better effect we have expanded a little the canvas. The last step is to add a bevel and shadow effect to the picture layer and the piece layer. You should get something similar to ...
