Apply a mask

Open a template and insert a picture as you have learned on the previous chapters

In Photoshop select the Shape layer grouped with your picture, now press on the Masks button of the program

and double click on the mask thumbnail you want to apply to the picture

Automatically the mask positions at the shape layer and masks the picture, size and position is adjusted automatically

You may change the mask to suit your own needs, select the mask on the shape layer, then select a brush and paint over the picture; black hides the picture and white reveals it

You may also use the masks to apply a smooth transition between two pictures like here

2008 Hot One Award

The Hot One Awards honor the photographic industry’s best new products for professional photographers. This award marks the first nomination and entry for Album DS which just made it’s official North American debut in October.
The contest was judged by a panel of 18 professional photographers voting on categories that fit within their areas of expertise. The judges voted on products based on many criteria including ease of use, suitability to task, workflow, and support.
